Hosting and server log files
The website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Avenue #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When a page is requested, the server automatically records technical data: IP address, date and time, the page requested, referrer URL, and browser and operating system information. This processing is necessary to run and secure the website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The data is not combined with other data sources and is not used to identify individual visitors.
A data processing agreement is in place with Vercel. Vercel is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and standard contractual clauses apply in addition.
Fonts
The fonts used on this site are served from the site's own server. No connection is made to Google Fonts or similar services.
Cookie banner and consent
Analytics services are loaded only with your consent. Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage (localStorage) so the banner does not reappear on every visit. This storage is technically necessary (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can reset and change your choice at any time with the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer.
Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics
With your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG), Google Tag Manager is loaded and Google Analytics is activated through it. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google Analytics sets cookies and records pseudonymised usage data such as pages viewed, time on site, approximate location and device type. The data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA on the basis of the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. It is deleted once the retention period set in Google Analytics has passed.
Without your consent, Google Tag Manager is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. More information: policies.google.com/privacy.
Booking appointments with Cal.com
Several pages (home, contact, consulting, speaking and office hours) embed a booking calendar from Cal.com, Inc., 2261 Market Street #4382, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA. When you open these pages, your browser connects to Cal.com's servers (in some cases the EU instance, app.cal.eu), and at least your IP address is transmitted (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
If you book an appointment, the data you enter is processed: name, email address, the time you choose, and any optional details about your topic or question. On the consulting page you can select topics in advance that are carried into the booking form; this only happens once you start the booking yourself. The legal basis is the performance of pre-contractual steps at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The data is deleted once it is no longer needed to arrange the appointment and any subsequent work together, unless a statutory retention period applies.
Cal.com is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and standard contractual clauses apply in addition. More information: cal.com/privacy.

Your data is stored until you withdraw your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every issue or by email. The transfer to the USA relies on standard contractual clauses. More information: beehiiv.com/privacy.

If you contact me by email, your details are processed to handle your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). They are not passed on without your consent and are deleted once the enquiry is dealt with and no retention duties apply.
